ABOUT THE CREATOR

Au Courant Soapery was started in 2021 by yours truly, Bree Bailey.

As a little girl I was always interested in art; drawing, fashion, sewing, etc. When I was 9 I got my first sewing machine and starting designing and sewing doll clothing along with clothing for myself. My dream was to be a fashion designer. At 18 I got accepted into a four year Fashion Design School. During school I became very interested in the makeup side of fashion, so I decided to pick up and leave everything and everyone I knew to move to L.A. to go to The Makeup Designery. After graduating in 2006, I worked as a Makeup Artist in film and television. In 2018 "Painting" faces lead to wanting to learn how to paint on a canvas so I started learning to paint with all sorts of mediums; experimenting with Oil, Acrylic, Acrylic Pours and Resin Pours.

Now lets get to the SOAP! I have always been obsessed with fancy, luxurious soaps. Take me into World Market and I would walk out with 5 new soaps. Fast forward to 2021. I thought, "why am I paying all of this money for fancy soaps that I am just buying because of the pretty packaging?" So I decided, why not use my knowledge and love for art and painting and use it to create something that is not only all natural, but something that I can't get enough of. So I started experimenting with ingredients until I formulated some of my favorite recipes and now I am here to share the final products with you!

Each bar of soap is handmade using the Cold Process Method* (see FAQ's page for information about this process). Many people do not realize that soap is not just art, but is a science! I pour her heart into each bar and hopes that you love them as much as I do!
